Let It Out Exclusive!

This Sunday-gone, it was a day of madness in south-west London when we shot the video for ‘Let It Out’, the official theme tune to Dubplate Drama 3, produced by Bless Beats featuring the vocal talents of Donaeo, Double S and Wretch 32.

So while most of the Wimbledon residents lay asleep in their beds, the Frsh production crew, Dubplate team, and the all important stars of ‘Let It Out’, were on route to the Watershed Club.

The first surprise of the day came courtesy of The English National Ballet School. Despite being a teenager himself, choreographer and dance student George Williamson rolled up with his entourage to bring a fresh perspective on ballet. You wouldn’t be the first to go ‘huh’ when you think of ballet dancers pirouetting to grime, but that’s what went down.

Suitably impressing the MCs, Wretch32 learnt a few positions and all the guys took it in turn to pose for pics with the female dancers who pulled off more high kicks and tricky looking manoeuvres than any pole dancer could muster. Far more tasteful too.

With the extras turning up quicker than another dodgy MP expense claim, RWD TV and SB_TV were there to catch all the behind the scenes action, along with a full crew from Flava TV. Along with some dodgy hair-dos, there was a lot of colour, balloons, silly string and party vibes going down.

Professor Green, Big Narstie, actor Isaac Ssebandeke, Janee, Mos Wanted, Young Nate, Nu Brand Flexx and many more of the Dubplate friends and family passed through to show their support or go nuts in the group scenes.

Watch out for the behind the scenes video footage coming soon…

Tim Westwood

Fall back!

Ghetts Spits It Out...

Spit It Out Exclusive!

It was a Dubplate takeover down at the MTV HQ in Camden, when it came to filming the ChildLine bumpers. Having spent the last few weeks lining up talent for the ChildLine bumpers – the mini-ads you see throughout each episode – we witnessed a star studded line-up of lyric spitting and vocal harmonies. Tasked with coming up with a rhyme or a few lines around the ChildLine competition ‘Spit It Out’, encouraging creative hopefuls to get it out, Chipmunk was first to step up and deliver 8 bars of grime madness. Ironik, Craig David, Jay Sean and Mpho all lent their voices to the camera so keep checking the blog for the evidence.

Not ones to fall back, we made sure our main man Michael Adeyeye was down at the MTV studios, to take shots. Big up Karen O' Sullivan on the make-up frontline too...

Let's not front: when you see guys on TV, in videos, on film... they are wearing make-up. Think about that next time you go to an indie dance and clock the chaps in eyeliner. It ain't nothing new.

Adam Deacon knows what's poppin'

Ace (of 1Xtra Troublemakers fame) goes in hard...

Ironik gets his make-up game on

Having enjoyed chart success with 'Chip Diddy Chip', Chipmunk still found time to represent and spit some inspirational lyrics

Gemma Cairney, one half of the 1Xtra breakfast show, alongside Trevor Nelson, and presenter/ stylist on T4's Frock Me, gets her slap on

We loved his last track 'Sing 4 Me', and we love Ghetts. Make of that what you will

Ironik gets all superstar ahead of shooting his bumper. Look out for his video with Chipmunk and Elton John. I kid thee not

Normally when Josh interviews someone they laugh. Vis, on the otherhand, took it very seriously

Kojo paid Karen to laugh

If you haven't done so already make sure you download Mpho's mixtape The Art of Pop here It's massive. And free.

The big dawg Tim Westwood told the other cats to fall back. Go hard or go home.

N-Dubz - Wouldn't You

The new video from N-Dubz. Dappy does alot with that wrench while Tulisa, wow, stunning. One of the best songs off the album, Uncle B, no doubt.

N Dubz Tulisa - Spit It Out!

N Dubz Dappy Spits It Out

Don't forget to check out N Dubz on tour... mind you tickets are sold out so if you ain't got one...

Dubplate Roof Top Battle!!!!

So its about 10.30pm now.. its a likkle bit on the chilly side. You can find the ‘man dem’ on the set waddle like penguins when cameras are off but as soon as the tape starts rolling every one lets down the shoulders, looking real cool whilst holding an appropriate battle face frown slanted to one side doing the ‘bad man’ lean. Big Narstie was in a t-shirt all night! Don’t know how he dun it!

Nasty GLC and Isaac held everyone up in stitches! They were cracking a whole heap of jokes that had everyone bennin up the whole night through!

Despite the temperature though, the air was heated with excitement! The 30 gib (camera on a crain) seemed like a type of dinosaur that crawled through the air and towered over the entire set. The huge scene lights literally filled the sky making it hard to remember what time of day it actually was!

Every take and every newly completed scene seemed to punch home just how skilful the cast are, just how big a movement Dubplate really is and how enormous this series is going to be. It is defiantly making one of the heaviest contributions to shaping the UK scene of the creative arts, media, music and entertainment!

If you want to see UK history in the making then don’t miss the new series of Dubplate Drama especially this episode…you guys need to see what happens!!!

Watch this space!
